Governor Profiles

Jill Wright
As a former primary school Headteacher I enjoy contributing to the governing body through my knowledge of education and the experience I have gained as a governor over the past 30 years.  I have served as Chair of Governors for 5 years leading a team of volunteers who are committed to ensuring they provide the highest quality of education at All Saints.

Emma Hawkins

I have lived in Laxfield since 2000 and joined as a volunteer classroom helper with Years 2 and 3 in 2007. I have been a foundation governor since October 2012 and I am a member of the curriculum committee and also am the named safeguarding governor.

Laxfield has been home for my family since 1993. Both my children enjoyed their time at All Saints School and they benefited greatly from the excellent education they received.  Up until 2012 I was a Parent Governor but now that my children have left the school I have taken on the role of ‘Associate Governor’ (that means I don’t get to vote at meetings). In this role I am pleased to be able to support the school in any way I can to help it to inspire the children in our community to be the best they can.  In my work I travel around the country training business professionals in the art of project management.

Linda Sherman

I moved to Laxfield in 2006 and already feel like a 'local!' My interests are centred on music and voluntary work, including sitting on Independent Review Panels for Suffolk County Council. Having retired after 22 years in education, including the headship of two village primary schools, I have considerable experience in many aspects of school governance. In particular, I recognise the challenges faced by small schools but, importantly, the educational and social opportunities they offer to our young people. Our primary school is at the heart of the community and I am pleased to be involved as it moves on to a new phase.

Alison Standley
I have been a foundation governor for 8 years and come in to school regularly to listen to the children reading in Class 1.
I have been involved in farming in Suffolk with my husband since 1986 and also in village life. We came to Laxfield 9 years ago. Now that I have grandchildren I want to see all children recieve the best start in life.
